Meeting notes

Every call written up before you close the tab.

Lanternmere listens in, writes down who said what, and hands you a summary where each action item links back to the moment it was agreed.

An example of Lanternmere's notes for a thirty two minute call between three people: the transcript, a two line summary, and three action items, each linked to the line of the transcript it came from.

  • Two customers have asked about exports and get a call this week.

Action items

What it does

The notes you meant to take

See everything it does

A transcript you can actually read

Every line is timed and named, split where the talking changes hands rather than every few seconds. Filler words are trimmed, and you can correct a name or a line in place.

  • Timed lines
  • Named participants
  • Edit in place

How it works

Three steps, and the second one is waiting

  1. Invite it to the call

Add Lanternmere to the calendar invite, or start it from the browser when the call starts. It joins as a named participant, so nobody is recorded without knowing.

  2. Read the notes as you hang up

The transcript, a short summary and the action items are waiting before the call window has closed. Each item names who took it on.

  3. Follow up in one click

Send the summary to everyone who was there, or to the people who were not. Every item still links back to the moment it was said.

Privacy and data

Your calls stay yours

A recording of a meeting is one of the most private things a team makes. Here is exactly what happens to it.

Read the privacy policy

  • Audio is deleted after the notes are written

The recording is kept only as long as it takes to transcribe. The text stays; the audio goes, unless you choose to keep it.

  • Nothing is used to train anything

Your transcripts are not used to improve a model, ours or anybody else's. That is in the terms, not only on this page.

  • Everybody on the call can see it is there

Lanternmere joins under its own name and posts a line in the chat. Anyone can ask for it to leave, and it does.

  • Export or erase in one go

Download every transcript as plain text, or delete the whole account and everything in it from the settings page.

In practice

What changes after a week

We used to lose the first ten minutes of every call arguing about what the last one decided. Now somebody pastes the link and we get on with it.

  • The action items are the part I did not expect to use. Hovering one and seeing the exact line it came from settles most disagreements.

    Ellis VargaOperations lead, small agency
  • I take client calls all day. I stopped typing during them in the first week and nobody has noticed anything except that I listen better.

Questions

Questions teams ask first

If yours is not here, the form at the bottom reaches a person.

  • No. Only the people who start calls and keep the archive need a seat. Anybody who was on the call can open the notes from the link, without signing up for anything.

  • It is transcribed and then deleted, unless you switch on keeping audio for a folder. The text is kept for as long as your plan says, and you can delete any call yourself at any time.

  • Every line of it links to the part of the transcript it came from, so you can check it in one click. Edit the summary in place and the change is what everybody sees.

  • One button in your settings, and no phone call. Every transcript and summary exports as plain text whenever you want it, including after you have stopped paying.
